Right fielder Jackie Jensen connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI as the

Boston Red Sox beat the Washington Nationals by a score of 12 to 5.



Jensen had a big day at the plate. He doubled bringing in two baserunners in

the 5th inning and bombed a two-run dinger (his 24th of the season) in the

8th inning. Boston had 13 hits for the game and Washington had 8.



The win was credited to Mel Parnell(5-3) who went 5 and 1/3 innings allowing 4

runs. Ted Abernathy(5-7) was the losing pitcher. His ERA ballooned from 5.76

to 6.24 as he allowed 7 runs in 4 innings.
