Roy Campanella connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI and Roger Craig tossed

a complete game at Polo Grounds where the incredible Brooklyn Dodgers beat

the New York Giants 14 to 6.



Campanella had a big evening at the plate. He doubled bringing in two

baserunners in the 1st inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' (his 29th of

the season) in the 4th inning. Brooklyn rapped out 13 hits for the night.



The winning pitcher was Craig(4-1) who allowed 6 runs for the game. The losing

pitcher was Ray Monzant(6-2). He gave up 4 hits and 2 walks in 1/3 of an

inning.
