AL Transaction August 20th
The Washington Nationals placed 28 year old righthanded reliever Bob Chakales on the DL today. In his 5th season, first with Washington, Chakales has been the Nationals best reliever. Aquired from the White Sox on June 7th Chakales is a combined 2-0 with a 2.01 ERA over 63 innings. Nationals manager Chuck Dressen hopes to have him back before the end of the season.
