AL Transaction August 21st
The Chicago White Sox activated 27 year old righthander Dick Donovan from the DL today. Donovan had been placed on the DL July 30th and at the time was tied for the AL lead in wins with 13. After 4 years with short stints in the big leagues he was aquired from Detroit in the off season and has been a major cog in Chicago's run for the pennant with a (13-4) record and a 3.08 ERA in 131 innings. In 17 starts Donovan has 9 complete games and White Sox skipper Marty Marion plans on starting him in today's ballgame.
