Right fielder Hank Bauer hit one over the fence as the New York Yankees
outscored the pitiful Baltimore Orioles 4 to 3.
Baltimore was unable to recover after New York went ahead in the 4th inning
plating an isolated run on 3 hits. Baltimore threatened in the 9th but New
York was able to put down the rally.
Tommy Byrne(6-7) allowed 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Bob Grim recorded his 2nd save. Bill Wight(3-4) took the loss.
