Duke Snider hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the amazing Brooklyn Dodgers
outscored the struggling New York Giants 6 to 0.
Brooklyn took the lead for good in the top of the 4th inning when they tallied
2 runs on 2 hits. Brooklyn finished with 10 hits while New York ended up
with 5.
Karl Spooner(10-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 innings and allowing
no runs. Ed Roebuck gained credit for his 7th save. Jim Hearn(9-14) was the
loser. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 7 hits and 2 walks in
4 and 1/3 innings.
With this win, Brooklyn has a 73-44 record. They have been 6-4 lately. New
York can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a
miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
