At Comiskey Park the Detroit Tigers were battered 7 to 2 by the Chicago White
Sox.
Chicago promptly took the lead in their half of the first when they tallied 4
runs on 5 hits. The key at-bat was by Nellie Fox who made the home-town
crowd a happy bunch when he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 9th of
the season). Chicago managed 13 in their victory.
Dixie Howell(2-0) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Ned
Garver(13-9) took the loss. He allowed Chicago 5 runs in 3 innings of work.
