Sandy Consuegra went the distance as the Chicago White Sox defeated the

lifeless Baltimore Orioles by a score of 7 to 2 at Comiskey Park.



In the bottom of the 5th inning Chicago scored 6 runs when they had 4 base

hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Jim Rivera who elicited a roar from

the hometown fans when he doubled scoring two baserunners. Chicago managed

11 in their victory.



Consuegra(8-4) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. George

Zuverink(2-5) was the loser. He was touched for 9 hits and 3 walks in 4 and

2/3 innings.
