Left fielder Ted Williams ripped 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Tom Brewer
hurled a fine complete game shutout as the Boston Red Sox crushed the
Cleveland Indians 13 to 0.
Williams had a big evening at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger in the
1st inning and lofted a three-run 'big-fly' (his 22nd of the season) in the
6th inning. Boston had 10 hits for the night.
Brewer(14-7) went the distance for the shutout. The loss was charged to Herb
Score(15-7). He was not very effective, surrendering 8 runs in 3 and 2/3
innings.
