Left fielder Dave Philley had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the Baltimore Orioles

outscored the Detroit Tigers in 12 innings 10 to 6.



The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Baltimore won it in the 12th

inning. The highlight belonged to Philley who helped quiet the crowd when he

doubled plating all three baserunners. Despite losing, Detroit out-hit

Baltimore 19 to 15.



Art Schallock(2-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Jim

Bunning(2-3) was the loser in relief. He allowed Baltimore 3 runs in 2

innings of work.
