Dick Cole had 2 base hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates topped the Chicago Cubs by

a score of 6 to 4 at Forbes Field.

Lino Donoso(2-5) came through for Fred Haney with an excellent relief stint.

He did not allow a baserunner in his 2 innings. Both teams totaled 9 on the

night.

Harry Perkowski(0-7) was the losing pitcher in relief. Pittsburgh scored big

getting 4 runs off him in 2 and 1/3 innings. The Pittsburgh ballclub's

record now stands at 45-81. Chicago can't seem to snap out of their recent

'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.
