In a two run game the Baltimore Orioles got by the Detroit Tigers by the score

of 4 to 2.

Baltimore tallied 2 runs in the 2nd inning when they had 3 base hits. They

would be enough to earn the win. Detroit had a chance to come back in the

9th but they came up short.

Erv Palica(4-12) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 6 innings. Palica

was helped out by Bill Wight who recorded his 2nd save. Steve Gromek(6-11)

took the loss.

Bucky Harris was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our

guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.

That is what really ticks me off!'
