Warren Spahn(17-7) was credited with the win in a less than impressive

performance. He gave up 4 runs, 8 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings. Milwaukee

banged out 10 on the afternoon.



Jim Hearn(9-15) absorbed the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and 2/3

innings. The Milwaukee ballclub's record now stands at a league leading

81-45. Still in a bad slump, with this loss, New York is 2-8 lately and

56-68 on the year.
