NL Transaction August 27th
The Brooklyn Dodgers activated 19 year old rookie pitcher Sandy Koufax from the DL. Koufax was (2-0) with a 1.26 ERA in 14 innings, including one start before going on the DL July 7th. Skipper Walt Alston planned to place him in the rotation immediately for the stretch run for the pennant.
