The Cincinnati Redlegs put 4 runs on the scoreboard in the 12th inning and

defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in 12 innings by a score of 8 to 4 at Ebbets

Field.



Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. Cincinnati won it

in the 12th inning. The key offensive moment was provided by Smoky Burgess

who silenced the crowd when he delivered a base-hit scoring two baserunners.

The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.



The win was credited to Jackie Collum(7-6) who went 3 innings allowing no

runs. Ed Roebuck(1-2) took the loss in relief. He was knocked around,

surrendering 4 runs in 2 innings.
