AL Transaction August 30th
The Chicago White Sox called up 38 year old veteran reliever Al Papai. Papai, starting his 4th season, last pitched in the big leagues with the St Louis Cardinals in 1950. He has also pitched for the Browns and Red Sox. His best season was 1949 when he was (5-11) with a 5.06 ERA.
