At County Stadium the Milwaukee Braves easily handled the Cincinnati Redlegs
by the score of 8 to 4.
Bill Bruton provided much of the offense. He belted a three-run homer (his
9th of the season) in the 2nd inning and doubled plating a run in the 8th
inning. Milwaukee had 9 hits for the game and Cincinnati had 6.
Chet Nichols(11-5) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 5 innings. Nichols got
help from Ernie Johnson who was credited with his 5th save. Johnny
Klippstein(8-7) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving
up 7 runs in 5 innings.
