Bob Friend tossed a complete game as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the

Brooklyn Dodgers 3 to 2 at Ebbets Field.



Pittsburgh scored 2 runs in the 5th inning when they had 3 base hits. They

would be enough to earn the win. Pittsburgh had a total of 7 hits for the

game.



The victory was credited to Friend(9-12) who went the distance, allowing 2

runs. Sandy Koufax(2-1) absorbed the loss. With this win, Pittsburgh has a
