Right fielder Bob Kennedy blasted a grand slam at Comiskey Park where the
amazing Chicago White Sox beat the Boston Red Sox 11 to 9.
Kennedy had a big day at the plate. He lined a one-base hit bringing in a run
in the 3rd inning and electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home run (his
5th of the season) in the 4th inning. Boston was set down quietly in the
9th.
The victory went to Virgil Trucks(11-8) who went 4 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Trucks got relief help from Harry Byrd who gained credit for his 2nd save.
Ellis Kinder(3-5) ended up with the loss in relief.
