Stadium in a hard fought contest.
Philadelphia jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they
tallied 3 runs on 3 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Stan
Lopata who excited the crowd when he lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run (his 31st of the season). New York could do no damage in the 9th.
Herm Wehmeier(11-8) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and
