Billy Martin had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the New York Yankees topped the

Baltimore Orioles in 10 innings by a score of 7 to 2 at Memorial

Stadium.



Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. New York won the

game in the 10th inning. The big moment was provided by Tommy Byrne who

disappointed the partisan crowd when he lashed a single plating two runs.

New York banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.



The victory was credited to Byrne(8-8) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs.

Bill Wight(5-5) was hit with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 7 hits in 9

innings.
