Gus Bell slapped a walk off single in the 10th inning as the Redlegs edge the Giants 2-1.

Joe Nuxhall pitched 9 strong innings as the Cincinnati Redlegs defeated the

New York Giants in 10 innings by the score of 2 to 1 at Crosley Field.



The score was tied at 1 after nine. Cincinnati came out on top in the 10th

inning. After two outs Wally Post reached on an error. Post took his lead

and swiped second. Gus Bell then singled making Cincinnati the winners and

sending the 11,392 fans home happy. Cincinnati had 10 hits for the game and

New York had 4.



Jackie Collum(9-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing

no runs. Marv Grissom(0-7) was the losing pitcher in relief.
