In a close game the Chicago White Sox came in to the game in quite a tailspin,

but they were able to snap their 6 game slide and got by the pathetic

Washington Nationals in 10 innings by the score of 8 to 6.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Chicago came out on top in the

10th inning. The highlight belonged to Walt Dropo who quieted the home crowd

when he delivered a base-hit scoring two baserunners. Chicago totaled 11

hits on the night.

Jack Harshman(12-6) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 9 innings. Bob

Chakales(2-1) was the loser in relief. He was knocked around, surrendering 4

runs in 2 innings.

'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Harshman said. 'It's great to be back on

the winning side of things.'
