as the Philadelphia Phillies defeated the league door-mat St. Louis Cardinals

6 to 3 at Sportsmans Park.



Philadelphia claimed the early lead in the first inning when they tallied 3

runs on 3 hits. Philadelphia had a total of 12 hits for the game.



The victory was credited to Roberts(17-15) who went the distance, allowing 3

runs. The loss was charged to Tom Poholsky(5-10).
