Frank Sullivan was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Boston Red Sox ballclub embarrassed the Chicago White
Sox by the count of 13 to 1.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Sammy White. He doubled in the 2nd inning, laced a single
knocking in a run in the 4th inning and lifted one out of the park for a two
run home run (his 13th of the season) in the 8th inning. Boston had many
opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.
The victory went to Sullivan(15-13) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Bob
Keegan(3-6) took the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 3
innings.
This win by Boston continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten
games, they have a record of 8-2. For the season, they are 79-61. Chicago
can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8
record over the last couple weeks.
