topped the Milwaukee Braves by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.

Milwaukee was unable to claim the lead after New York went ahead in the top of

the 3rd inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Milwaukee made it

exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Johnny Antonelli(13-13) allowed 2 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the

victory. Hoyt Wilhelm earned the save, his 1st. Bob Buhl(16-8) was tagged

with the loss.

'I just wanted to give my team a chance to win.' said Antonelli, 'I got burned

on a couple of pitches. But we won the game, and that's all that matters.'
