Danny O'Connell touched them all and had 4 RBI as the Milwaukee Braves crushed
the St. Louis Cardinals 16 to 5.
O'Connell enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He ripped a base-knock
knocking in a run in the 3rd inning and smashed a two-run homer (his 5th of
the season) in the 6th inning. Milwaukee provided plenty of action in the
3rd inning when they had 6 runs on 5 hits and the 7th inning which saw them
plate 4 runs on 4 hits. Milwaukee had many opportunities throughout the game
and scored in 6 separate innings.
Lew Burdette(15-10) allowed 5 runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory.
Brooks Lawrence(4-5) was given the loss. He was unable to control the
Milwaukee offense and allowed 5 hits and 4 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
