One run was the difference at Municipal Stadium as the Detroit Tigers defeated
the Cleveland Indians 4 to 3.
Steve Gromek(9-12) came through for Bucky Harris with an excellent relief
stint. He allowed just 2 hits and no walks in 3 innings and served up 2 'big
flies'. Cleveland threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Babe Birrer was credited with his 3rd save. Don Mossi(4-5) absorbed the loss
in relief. He surrendered 2 runs and 1 hit in 2/3 of an inning.
