Sandy Amoros slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated
the pitiful St. Louis Cardinals 8 to 4 at Sportsmans Park.
Amoros had a big day against St. Louis. He delivered a solo blast in the 5th
inning, rifled a three-run blast (his 14th of the season) in the 7th inning
and singled in the 8th inning. Brooklyn had 15 hits for the game and St.
Louis had 7.
Carl Erskine(10-9) picked up the victory, allowing 4 runs in 8 innings. Tom
Poholsky(5-11) absorbed the loss. 'I felt great out there tonight,' Amoros
said, 'Maybe I should make a regular habit of getting to bed on time!'
