In a close game the St. Louis Cardinals got by the Chicago Cubs by the score

of 4 to 2.



St. Louis came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning when they had 3

base hits. It was enough to earn the victory. Larry Jackson was perfect in

the ninth giving him his 2nd save on the season.



Brooks Lawrence(5-5) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Hal

Jeffcoat(5-10) suffered the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and no

walks in 1/3 of an inning.
