won a thriller over the hopeless Washington Nationals in, 7 to 6.
Baltimore scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After an
out was recorded, Fred Marsh doubled. Bob Hale came to the plate and
delivered a single making Baltimore the victor and beginning a joyous home
town celebration. Baltimore had 19 hits for the afternoon while Washington
had 8.
