Dick Gernert had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Fenway Park where the Boston Red Sox
beat the lifeless Baltimore Orioles 8 to 6.
Frank Sullivan(17-13) got the win but did not look spectacular. He gave up 5
runs, 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings. Boston had 13 hits for the afternoon.
Ellis Kinder gained credit for his 19th save. Bill Wight(6-6) was hit with
the loss. He was unable to control the Boston offense and allowed 10 hits
and 5 walks in 6 innings.
'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Sullivan, 'I was
just giving us a chance to win.'
