Shortstop Jose Valdivielso collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI at

Griffith Stadium where the Washington Nationals beat the New York Yankees 10

to 7.

Mickey McDermott(6-11) got the win but did not look spectacular. He gave up 9

hits and 6 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'.

Washington had a total of 11 hits for the game.

McDermott got relief help from Camilo Pascual who gained credit for his 3rd

save. Don Larsen(9-3) took the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 6 hits and 3
