Second baseman Bobby Avila slammed a homerun and had 2 RBI and Mike Garcia

went 9 strong innings as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Detroit Tigers 10

to 1 at Municipal Stadium.



Cleveland started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of

the first scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits. Cleveland had many

opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6 separate innings.



Garcia(14-10) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Bob

Miller(2-1) was tagged with the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 4 and

1/3 innings.
