Tommy Byrne carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the phenomenal New York
Yankees defeated the Boston Red Sox by a score of 7 to 0 at Yankee
Stadium.
Byrne(9-8) had a strong outing. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 3
hits and 7 walks in 9 innings improving his ERA from 3.58 to 3.38. The
left-handed Byrne had his no-hit bid broken up by Billy Klaus who singled
