Mike Garcia was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Ebbets Field as the Cleveland Indians beat the Brooklyn
Dodgers 6 to 1.
Cleveland came through with the game-winning runs in the 8th inning scoring 5
runners on 4 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Bobby Avila who
silenced the stadium when he stroked a base-hit which was good for two runs.
Cleveland finished with 9 hits in the victory.
The win went to Garcia(1-1) who allowed 1 run in the game. Don Newcombe(1-1)
