Carl Furillo slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated

the Cleveland Indians by the score of 9 to 7 at Municipal Stadium.

Cleveland was unable to claim the lead after Brooklyn went ahead in the top of

the 7th inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. The crucial at-bat was

(his 1st of the season). Brooklyn finished with 12 hits in the victory.

Karl Spooner(2-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Bob

Feller(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 4 hits and 1 walk
